Common Questions
How Much Money Do I Need For A Student Visa In 2026?
You must show financial means of at least 100% of IPREM per month — around €600 per month (roughly €7,200 per year). Many consulates prefer to see €8,000–€10,000 for the academic year.
Can I Work On A Student Visa?
Yes. Student Visa holders can work part-time up to 30 hours per week, provided it does not interfere with your studies.
Do I Need A TIE?
If your course lasts more than six months you must apply for a TIE card within one month of arriving in Spain; it is then renewed annually. Courses of six months or less are covered by the visa itself.
Can I Bring My Family?
Yes. Your spouse and children can join you as dependents, with additional proof of funds for each family member.
Can A Student Visa Lead To Residency?
Yes. After three years of legal stay you can switch to a work or residence permit, and your student years count towards long-term residency.
